STEPHEN D. TREUER, a founder of Barbanel & Treuer, P.C., specializes in insurance litigation. He has litigated matters
involving commercial general liability policies, insurance brokers, directors and officers liability policies, claims-made policies,
reinsurance, and excess insurance. In addition, Mr. Treuer has experience handling cases involving the reformation and rescission of
insurance policies and the rights and obligations of independent defense counsel.
Mr. Treuer's practice also includes many years of defending product liability claims. His experience includes the defense of cases for
Ford Motor Company involving automobile airbag and restraint systems and a major patent infringement case. Additionally, Mr. Treuer's
practice has included business disputes, Indian law, construction law and intellectual property.
Mr. Treuer received his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1984. He earned his B.A. from Hampshire College in 1976 and his M.A. in
European history from the University of California, Berkeley in 1980. Mr. Treuer is a member of both the California and Arizona state bars.
